Had a customer with 98 Dodge Durango 5.9 that came in with an awful belt chirp and squeak. They had recently replaced the water pump and installed a low quality (cheap) belt but could not get rid of this irritating noise. The belt tensioner was seized so it no longer held tension on the belt. Installed a DAYCO belt tensioner to resolve this problem, but their cheap belt still squawked. Installed a DAYCO Poly Rib belt and problem was totally resolved!

I stock Dayco Belts. One customer arrived to my shop complaining about belt noise (2003 F-150). He installed 2 different brands of belts and the noise never stopped. I installed for him one Dayco belt, that I happened to have in stock. PROBLEM SOLVED!! And a new loyal customer.

Our family owned repair shop has always used products from a competitor of Dayco. We were having numerous fit problems and squeak problems. When the Dayco rep visited with me, I was sold. Not only are they made in the USA, but we have yet to have the first return, in almost a year. The quality is so much better, even with the No Slack tensioners and timing belts. We now display our red white and blue wrapped Dayco belts proudly!

A customer’s Lincoln Town Car Limo came in for service and we installed a new Dayco Poly Rib W belt because of a nagging low level noise from the drive system. A few weeks later, this customer came back for another problem and made the following comment. “What kind of belt did you install on my car? I didn’t think much of it at the time, but when I had the other belt installed I heard a loud whooshing noise. Since you installed this new belt, the noise is gone.”

Ernie runs a general repair shop and also belongs to a street racing club which only races Mazda Miatas. Ernie was having trouble with the alternator belt which was disintegrating immediately after installation. No belt seemed to work. “A Dayco distributor introduced a new Dayco W Belt (part no. 5040345) that is engineered with deeper grooves. This belt solved the problem when other didn’t. I recently ordered several more for the race club.”

One of Dayco’s national auto parts chains was recently introduced to the new Dayco W profile belt. Two days after receiving the inventory and listening to the sales presentation the counterman had a customer come in with noise problems from his serpentine belt. This customer just replaced the tensioner, pulley and belt (not Dayco). He still had a noise problem and was looking for relief. The counterman presented and helped install a new Dayco W Poly Rib belt which eliminated the noise problem for good.

Bill runs a general repair facility that works primarily on Chrysler and Dodge vehicles. “Through the many years of working on cars, I have experienced many aggravating noise problems from belt drive systems. I was interested in the new design from Dayco and had great success with the new W Belt. Many times it turns out that it something other then the belt that causes the noise. This belt allows for these slight misalignments. This thing works.”

I have a 1999 Chevy truck 5.0L engine that had a constant whirl noise from the belt drive. Many attempts have been made to remedy with no success. The Dayco representative introduced us to the new W-rib design and we decide to put it to the test (part no. 5060960). Four weeks running now and no whirl.
